The 13 week program was a success |
I never thought the program was enough of a workout to get me through - it looked like too many rest days, not enough workout time, too little running, etc. But at my age, the rest was crucial and the weekend long efforts were enough to build the stamina I needed. Amazingly, I was less stiff the day after the race than I used to be after a marathon - when I was 10 years younger. Thank you Gale Bernhardt!

The thought of taking on an Ironman can certainly be intimidating. However, with Gale's help, I surpassed my goals and finished my first Ironman in 11:59. You guys did a great training program! I followed it through the whole 14 weeks and finished 4th in my age division with a time of 1:57:08. My two nieces also completed your program, training in Pennsylvania while I trained in Georgia. We all tracked our progress online. It was great fun! You guys rock!
