I am thrilled with how well the marathon went, despite the very cold weather and a horrible allergy headache I had the day before. I must say I followed the training program, only missing maybe 2 workouts in August when my family took a vacation. I ran my first Chicago Marathon in 2004, completing the course in 5:30. “I used your walk/run program for my training. On marathon day, I walked one minute after 4 minutes of running and then walked one minute every 5 minutes thru mile 13.
